Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday reportedly drove to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's Karen home for a private meeting.
The meeting was held in the absence of CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka who reports indicate was committed elsewhere.
According to sources privy to the engagements between Odinga and Wetangula, they jointly took breakfast as they discussed several issues regarding the ongoing preparations for the 2017 elections.
Top of the agenda was the amendment to electoral laws which allow the IEBC to have a manual voter identification backup in case the electronic system fails.
According to the Opposition leaders, they resolved they would not take anything short of an electronic system which they maintained would help deliver credible results.
They are also reported to have deliberated on a Thursday Senate sitting which is set to discuss the amendments passed two weeks ago by the National Assembly.
"The two leaders talked on a wide range of issues among them the Senate proceedings on the Electoral Laws (Amendment) Bill passed by the National Assembly. They agreed that only the electronic system will ensure transparency," one of the sources was quoted by a local daily.
The amendments, which are widely supported by the Jubilee faction, have sparked countrywide debate with various stakeholders adding their voice to the same.
While some are in support of the manual backup system, others have insisted that the country has the technological capacity to ensure the electronic system does not fail.
The Opposition has even claimed that the amendments could be a fishy method of rigging the upcoming polls to favour the incumbent administration.
