Raila Odinga to Hire Nomination Losers in NASA Government

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga on Thursday urged all nomination losers in the primaries to stay in the party and support his presidential bid.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer promised the nomination losers that they would be part of the NASA administration once it forms the government.

“Nominations are part of the electoral process. I request everyone, including those who lost, to remain strong in the party.

“When we form the next government, they will have a crucial role to play,” Raila stated during a press conference.

Some of the big losers in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nominations include Raila's brother Oburu Odinga who was seeking the Orange party ticket for the Bondo Parliamentary seat and his cousin Jakoyo Midiwo who was eyeing to defend his current Gem MP seat.

On the issue of last week's ODM nominations, the Opposition chief thanked all aspirants and party supporters members for the minimal cases of chaos and violence during the primaries.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, the ODM party leader explained that he left the party's National Elections Board to handle the process and took a hands-off approach to ensure democracy prevailed in the primaries.

"I feel ODM did pretty well in the nominations, compared to last time, I personally did not involve myself in nomination affairs," Odinga told the host, journalist Hussein Mohammed.

Mr Odinga distanced himself from claims that he influenced the primaries and handpicked leaders for the people stating that those allegations were baseless and unfounded.

While responding to the possibility of NASA winning the election, the former Prime Minister stated that the Jubilee administration was on its way out as the wave of change was sweeping across the country.
