Raila Says August Elections Will Make or Break Him

CORD leader Raila Odinga on Saturday caught many by surprise when he stated that the August 8 General Election will either break or make him.

Speaking at the Kakamega County Bus Park, in a show of how important the upcoming polls are to him, Odinga pleaded with the residents to register as voters ahead of what he described as a do or die moment election.

The CORD leader urged the locals to arm themselves with their voter’s card and support the course to send Jubilee home in the August election.

At some point, the former Prime Minister caused laughter when he told the residents that the only remaining project for Jubilee was to “start launching latrines in your homes”.

“Time is moving fast; they thought five years would never end. The only remaining thing for them is to start launching latrines in your homes. Do not ask for handouts kindly register and leave the rest to me,” he said.

Odinga condemned the President and his deputy stating that they had failed to deliver during their tenure and were now running around in choppers with sacks of money pretending to launch non-existent projects.

The ODM party leader reiterated that this time round the Opposition will be keen to ensure no vote is stolen during the elections.

Raila was accompanied by CORD co-principal Moses Wetang’ula, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and MPs Eseli Simiyu, Chris Wamalwa and Wafula Wamunyinyi.

Wetang’ula too called for Opposition unity, saying it was the only way to clinch power.
