Shahbal and Mwaboza Summoned to Mombasa State House

Two Jubilee politicians were on Friday summoned to State House following continued rivalry between them.

Suleiman Shahbal and Anania Mwaboza, who have been wrangling over control of Jubilee party in Mombasa County, reportedly spent the better part of the day having talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Kenyatta is said to have been angered by the fights between the two who have previously expressed interest in dethroning Mombasa governor Hassan Joho.

The two leaders confirmed that they had met the Head of State but failed to divulge details of what transpired during the meeting.

Mwaboza, when contacted for comment by a local daily confirmed that he was with the President at that moment, while Shahbal stated: “I am in State House. Will call later.”

Dispute between the two leaders escalated after the election of Jubilee interim officials which turned chaotic in the County.

One faction is said to have won most of the posts sparking protest from the other group, which led to violent confrontations and damage of property at the Kenya School of Government.

The Party reportedly decided not to support any side to avoid losing support from either of the two, who analysts opine are instrumental in selling Jubilee in the Coastal region.
