Dangerous Weapons Meant to Attack Kenya Returned

The Somali National Army (SNA) on Wednesday handed over weapons to Kenya, that were supposedly meant to be used in a planned attack on Mandera.

The weapons which included IEDs, bullets and rifles for detonation and disposal were reportedly found in Bula Hawa, Somalia. It is reported that the Al-Shabaab militants had stolen the weapons from the Somali Security forces.

Kenyan security officials are said to have received the weapons during a meeting held at the Kenya-Somali border led by a Jubaland Commander and senior security officials from lower Juba region of Somalia.

The Kenyan team was reportedly led by Mandera County Commissioner Fredrick Shisia, who was accompanied by other security agents including the area OCPD.

Mr Shisia urged more collaboration between the two countries and thanked Somalia for the hand-over of the weapons. On the other hand the Somali forces asked the government to offer more support as they were fighting a common enemy.
