South Africa's Sports Minister Mbalula Fikile Posts Deputy President William Ruto's Meme on Twitter

South Africa's Minister for Sports Mbalula Fikile elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans on Twitter after he posted a meme featuring Deputy President William Ruto.

The Minister used the meme entitled ‘my fren’ to disapprove claims by South African politician Hellen Zile’s that there was nothing wrong with colonialism.

"My Fren....she's at it again after calling us REFUGEES she now Sees nothing wrong about COLONIALISM," the Minister tweeted.

This, however, sparked a backlash from Kenyans who asked him i f he was aware that he was using the Deputy President in a meme.

@MbalulaFikile @EssieWacuka @helenzille man stop using our Dp @WilliamsRuto as a meme.

This is not the first time the Minister has picked at Kenyans. Years ago, he influenced a hashtag #SomeoneTellSouthAfricans after he made comments about Kenyan athletes drowning in pools at a press conference.
