Special Crime Prevention Unit Detective Slashed to Death in Kiambu

A Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer was on Friday morning slashed to death after being attacked by a gang at around 4 am in Kiambu.

According to Head of Special Crimes Noah Katumo, the detective attached to the Special Crime Prevention Unit was killed by panga wielding criminals.

Katumo revealed that the officer was killed outside Tharaini bar where he was reportedly chewing miraa inside his car.

He was then strangled and slashed to death by the gang while a watchman at the bar and another man sustained deep panga cuts.

Katumo disclosed that the cop was off duty and was, therefore, not armed during the incident.

Police have launched investigations into the matter.

The injured watchman and the unidentified patron are admitted in hospital.
