A notorious robber was gunned down in Kamukunji area in Nairobi after police foiled his attempt to steal from an M-Pesa shop.
The individual, who is said to be behind a series of M-Pesa shop robberies in the city, was in the company of three others who managed to escape on foot.
Their attempt to rob the shop was futile as the shop owner raised alarm and police immediately swung into action, killing him on the spot.
According to Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome, the slain suspect was wanted for at least six M-Pesa shop robberies in the area.
This comes just under a month after armed robbers were caught on camera stealing from another M-Pesa shop in Kayole estate where they managed to get away with Sh100,000.
Members of the public have been urged to be on the lookout and notify police whenever they notice any suspicious activities.
