Residents of Mosobecho Village, Nandi county were left in shock after a 15 year old boy committed suicide after being accused of stealing a loaf of bread.
The victim, Isaac Kipkoech had been locked in a room for more than 5 hours and villagers threatened to lynch him if he came out.
The boy is said to have turned on himself while still in the make shift cell, but nobody knew of the death until the shopkeeper went to get him from the room.
The teenager, prior to the unfortunate incident, had been living with his grandmother.
Some of the villagers blame the death on the threats of those who had allegedly kept the boy in the room, insisting that there was a better way of dealing with the matter.
