Universities Threaten Major Demonstrations Over “Politicians Intimidating Keroche”

Kenyan universities students have decried alleged intimidation of Keroche Breweries by the Kenya Revenue Authority and a few politicians.

Kenya Universities Students’ Organization (KUSO) Chairman Babu Owino in a press statement, cited that if the breweries were to close, many people -including students with various businesses in the supply chain of products from the company- would lose their jobs and businesses.

He accused KRA of being used to push the agenda of politicians and international companies competing for the same market as Keroche.

The students'organization has threatened to expose the politicians who are allegedly behind the wars between KRA and Keroche.

The two bodies have been involved in tussles that saw the taxman seek to close down the brewery for alleged unpaid taxes.
