University Student Arrested With 2015 KCSE Exams

A fourth year University student was arrested with documents confirmed to be Kenya Certificate of Secondary (KCSE) examination papers.

The student was apprehended by police in Nyamira County alongside two other culprits with Biology and Business Studies papers similar to the ones that the candidates in the ongoing exams had done.

County Police Boss Mwarungu Mwandoe said that a secondary school principal had informed them about a man in the area who was willing to give the school head leakage in exchange for money, The Standard reports.

Mwandoe said that the three were arrested at Ntana Secondary school after Principal Jairus Alawar posed as a buyer and locked them within the school compound then called the police.

Education officer in charge of the area, Leo Juma, thanked the Principal adding that the Biology paper was exactly the one which was done on Thursday morning.

The National Exams have in the past been marred by incidents of examination leakage, with candidates being severely punished after they are found to have been involved in the cheating.

Meanwhile, Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) CEO Joseph Kivilu noted that the exams had kicked off smoothly with more than 500,000 candidates sitting for the test.
