VIDEO: Babu Owino Takes on Moses Kuria

Students Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) chairman Babu Owino and other young leaders on Monday came out to passionately defend CORD Principal Raila Odinga after the hateful remarks made by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

Addressing the press, Owino firmly warned the legislator against making 'barbaric' statements highlighting that Kuria did not have a right to address the former prime Minister in the manner he did.

“As youths, as women in this nation we are passing a strong warning to Moses Kuria that Raila Odinga is not your mother's boyfriend. And we are telling you that the only person who is allowed to talk to Raila the way you did is neither you nor your mother but Raila himself,” Owino stated.

Mr Owino went ahead to condemn Kuria and other Jubilee leaders who were over the weekend captured on tape making distasteful remarks that could divide the nation along tribal lines.

On Sunday, Mr Kuria, Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, among other Jubilee leaders were captured in a video making distasteful comments against the Opposition.

While addressing a gathering in vernacular, the Gatundu South MP stated that Odinga was a "threat to the nation" and should not be allowed to trouble the country forever.

At a separate event in Nakuru, Odinga's meeting turned chaotic after rowdy youth reportedly led by some Jubilee heads in the County attempted to cause disruption.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, who was reportedly leading the youth chanting anti-Odinga slogans, said that they would drive members of the Luo community out of the area.
