VIDEO: Circumcision Goes Wrong As Boys Fail to Heal

Seven boys in Misuuni village, Kitui County have been nursing injuries after circumcision procedure went wrong, leaving their genitals swollen and disfigured.

The boys aged between four and five underwent the rite of passage at a private hospital in the beginning of the August holiday but they are yet to heal.

According to the children's parents, the boys were finding it hard to pass urine and were in constant pain.

It is common in most communities that parents opt to have their sons circumcised during the school holidays to allow time to heal.

The boys' parents blamed a hospital staff who performed the minor surgery on their children for the problems the boys were going through.

However, a doctor from the hospital told K24 that the operation was done by the book, shifting the blame to parents whom he claimed did not do a good job in nursing the children's wounds.
