VIDEO: Girl Stripped Of Dignity Sues Government

The Secondary School girl whose semi-nude photos were taken by a police officer and circulated in social media has sued the government.

The girl, who was allegedly found in possession of bhang, wants Sh7 million as compensation for damages and violation of rights.

The minor together with CRADLE-Children Foundation moved to the High Court in Nairobi seeking justice. She wants the 18 month probation sentence dismissed as she did not have any legal representation.

The form four student asserted that the photos had embarrased her and wanted legal action taken against the police officer.

Justice Weldon Korir served the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, Deputy of Public Prosecutor and Attorney General Githu Muigai with the suit papers and wants the case to be heard immediately.

The girl was arrested in Nyeri together with 44 other students as they were heading home for their August holiday. The students were allegedly found indulging in sex and drugs in the bus during the arrest.
