VIDEO: Jubilee Senator Caught Beating Secretary

A video has emerged online showing Nominated Senator Joy Gwendo assaulting a woman in her office.

In the video that has gone viral on social media, Senator Gwendo violently kicks out the secretary while shouting at her.

The woman identified as Annette Oyuga, is heard saying that she has not refused to leave, but would want to pick her belongings first.

Even before the victim collects her possessions, the Senator is seen in the amateur video physically attacking her with the woman begging not to be harrassed.

"Let me leave on my own account, let me take my belongings please do not mishandle me. You are paying me peanuts and still beat me with a shoe," she protested.

In the clip, a man is seen helplessly watching the scuffle as it unfolds, but occasionally tries to calm the tension with his reasonable voice coming out inaudibly.

The jubilee politician dares her victim to report the matter to the media but the woman declines.

"Senator, you will regret this. I will not waste time going to the media, but the God I am serving will fight for me," she ends her sentiments.

However, speaking to the Nairobian, Senator Gwendo admitted that indeed the scuffle happened but claimed that Ms Oyuga attacked her first.

"I fired her and she refused to leave , then she became violent. She attacked me after I ordered her out of the office. I was injured during the process and was treated for tetenus because of the scratches," she claimed.

Ms Gwendo explained that the fight began when she realised that some files and items - aptop and spare keys to her office - were missing.

The Jubilee Senator accused her secretary of being a mole, adding that she was leaking information from her office.

The incident has reportedly been booked at the Parliament Police Station.
