A young man from Embu county has made history for being the first Kenyan to join the National Basketball Association (NBA).
22-year-old Joseph Njeru has been enlisted with the Philadelphia 76ers (popularly referred to as the Sixers) team, in the most prestigious basket ball league.
Njeru has been playing basketball since he was in Form 1 back in 2009.
The 6.6ft tall young man placed basketball as the first priority had his talent nurtured by his teachers and coach.
After completing high school, he joined the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) -the reigning champions of the Kenyan basketball league.
