Deputy President William Ruto has once again ridiculed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, days after mocking the three CORD principals.
Speaking in Makueni during the launch of a youth empowerment programme, DP Ruto said that he was shocked when he saw Kalonzo duped by 'someone' to sit on tarmac road in Nairobi.
Amid laughter, Ruto urged the crowd to pray for Kalonzo adding that he could not comprehend how a former Vice President was engaging in such embarrassing acts.
"Mimi nataka muendelee na maombi. Na hata ndugu yetu Kalonzo muombee. Kwa sababu mara ya mwisho nilikuta yeye ati ameketi kwa lami Nairobi. Ameambiwa na mwingine twendeni tuketi kwa lami. Ule Kalonzo ambaye alikuwa vice president siku hizi anaketi kwa lami. Mumuombee jameni," Ruto said.
Loosely translated as, "I want to urge you to continue with prayers. Alsdo pray for our brother Kalonzo because the last time I saw him sitting on the tarmac road in Nairobi. He was duped by someone else to go sit on the tarmac. A man who was once the Vice President is now sitting on tarmac road. Please pray for him".
Mr Ruto was referring to the recent CORD demonstrations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
During one of the protests, the Opposition leaders camped outside IEBC headquarters at Anniversary towers demanding the dismissal of the commissioners and disbandment of the electoral body.
Two weeks ago, the DP scathingly attacked the CORD leaders accusing them of being a confused group.
“We as Jubilee, are very organised. We know who our candidate for 2017 is, we also know which party it is. Our candidate is Uhuru Kenyatta and the party is Jubilee.
“These other people (CORD) do not know who their candidate is, they do not know what party they will use. They are still gambling with themselves. They don’t know whether it is this ‘witchdoctor’ who says he is left with only one bullet, which we don’t know is meant to hit who, or it is the one who is always at the centre and does not know which direction to take, or it is the other one we hear was beaten by the wife,” Ruto posed, leaving the crowd in stitches.
