VIDEO: Woman Saves Boba-boda Rider From County Askaris

A woman was captured on tape bravely defending a bodaboda rider from the hands of Nairobi County Askaris who were reportedly harassing the operator.

The daring woman identified as Rosemary Kamathi, is seen confronting the officers who are destroying the rider's motorbike for allegedly parking next to Nyayo House.

“He is a human being, he has his own right, you do not have to spoil his property,” the woman firmly tells the Askaris.

In the video, Ms Kamathi is heard condemning the officers for breaking a side-mirror of the operator's bike and fearlessly follows them to Nyayo House to ensure the motorist is not harrassed.

She is also seen daring the officers to give her their boss' number so she can report the mistreatment.

Social media users have praised Ms Kamathi for her boldness and courage, as she was the only one who stood up for the motorist as bypassers looked on.

County Askaris have repeatedly been put on the spot for harassing hawkers and bodaboda riders in the Capital.

Numerous incidents have been recorded exposing their violent attacks on business persons though little has been done to curb the vice.
