Wiper Party Dismisses Claims That Kalonzo Has Quit NASA

The Wiper Party has dismissed reports of a letter claiming that its leader Kalonzo Musyoka has quit the National Super Alliance (NASA).

The letter dated May 5 purported that Musyoka had left NASA due to frustrations and lack of commitment by other leaders and would vie for the Presidency on a Wiper ticket.

The write up which was being shared especially on social media sparked anxiety and confused with some believing its authenticity.

"Fellow Kenyans, I hereby wish to withdraw from NASA (a process which my legal team has begun) and offer myself for the candidacy of the office of the President under a Wiper Democratic Movement ticket. I shall soon be naming my running mate," the letter read in part.

However, Wiper Secretary General Omar Hassan on Saturday affirmed that Musyoka was still NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga's running mate.

"How does anyone in his right mind believe such nonsense and how does anyone expect me, or Kalonzo for that matter, to respond to stupidity from Jubilee's spin doctors?" he posed.

On April 27, Opposition Odinga selected the NASA flag bearer with the Wiper chief as his running mate.

ANC's Musalia Mudavadi was given the post of Premier Cabinet Secretary in charge of the state department of internal security and administration of the national government.

Ford Kenya leader and Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula was named the Deputy Premier in charge of the public sector while Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was selected as the Deputy Premier in charge of the Devolution Sector.

Raila and Kalonzo are now set to face President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in the August 8 polls.
