A woman is accused of fraudulently using Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore's credit card to purchase items at Safaricom shops and a butchery in Hurlingham.
The court heard that Esther Wanjiku Gichuru, alias Alice Wagithi Ciuri, used Collymore's Barclays Bank Credit Card number on April 28, 2011 at a Safaricom retail shop in Nakumatt Mega.
It emerged that Ms Wanjiku settled a bill by reading out the card number to a cashier who served her at the Safaricom shop.
Appearing before Milimani Resident Magistrate Edda Agade on Thursday, Mr Collymore confirmed that he was the card holder bearing his number, which the woman allegedly used.
The Safaricom CEO added that he last used it on April 20, 2011, at the Sankara Hotel in Westlands.
Collymore also told the court he normally uses his Visa Card for international expenses like hotels, local entertainment and meals together with shopping.
He further testified that after the suspect used his credit card, the bank called to confirm whether he had made any transactions which he denied.
Mr Collymore's personal assistant later informed him about a woman that had been arrested for using his credit card.
The case is set to be heard on March 9.
