A physically challenged musician from Webuye in Bungoma County, is a lucky man living beyond his dreams after Deputy President William Ruto handed him a new car.

Daudi Zakari, who is a member of Webuye Jua Kali band, expressed that he had never dreamt of owning a car of his own.

“I am thankful to the Deputy President for what he has done for me. May the Lord bless him and give him heart to help more disabled people who have talent,” The Star quotes Mr Zakari

Ruto is said to have made the promise last year, after Mr Zakari made an impressive performance at an event the DP had attended. The elated man noted that at first he was uncertain on whether the promise would be fulfiled.

The 35-year-old artist is locally known for his hits songs My Dear and Tindikiti, which he normally performs at funerals, school functions and other ceremonies.

Zakari received the car from Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama at Masinde Muliro Gardens, where he promised to use the car during his music concerts. The MP told residents that he had been given the vehicle by DP Ruto in Nairobi.

Wanyama also assured the residents that more projects would be initiated in the area as he enjoys a good relationship with the Jubilee government.
