VIDEO: Governor Beaten in 'Fight' With MCA

A dramatic scene unfolded at a meeting convened by Kirinyaga Governor Joseph Ndathi in Mwea constituency when a verbal altercation between Ndathi and a Member of County Assembly turned into a physical confrontation.

Trouble started when area MCA Njamumo Njinaro condemned the County boss in public claiming that Kirinyaga had not benefited from his leadership.

This prompted the Governor to snatch a microphone from the local leader declaring that he would not sit back as his name was being maligned.

The situation turned ugly when Njinaro confronted Ndathi while his supporters hurled stones, forcing the Governor to retreat to a corner as his guards shielded him from angry residents.

The scuffle escalated to a physical fight between supporters of the two leaders before the police intervened and arrested the situation.

A shaken Governor Ndathi had a hard time controlling the crowd which jeered him when the meeting resumed, and babbled words implying that he had a right to address anyone within his County.

On the same day, Mombasa MCAs exchanged blows after reportedly disagreeing on a motion proposing the impeachment of the House Speaker.

In a video recording, the ward representatives were seen vigorously exchanging blows while hurling abuses.
