Film Board CEO Now Threatens to Arrest Maina Kageni

Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has gone a notch higher in controlling content aired on radio and television in the country.

On Saturday, Mr Mutua took on popular Classic 105 FM presenter Maina Kageni, stating that sex talks on his morning show should be transferred to watershed hours.

The KFCB head noted that if Kageni did not adhere to the orders he would storm the studio with police officers and arrest him.

Mutua also issued the same warning to Bi Mswafari, a re-known marital counsellor in the psychology of relationships, who mostly appears on Citizen Tv.

“I have announced that Wedding Show Programmes, Marriage Counsellors like Bi Msafari ( Citizen TV ) and those who host such programmes, Maina & King'ang'i ( Classic 105 ) will be required to take their adult sexual topics out of the watershed period,” Mutua said.

"Anyone thinking we are kidding will be in for a rude awakening. I will walk to the studio with police and have the said Bi. Msafari, Maina & Kingangi arrested if they defy these guidelines," he added.

Kenyans on social media criticised the unwavering Mutua over the new orders with many saying that he was going overboard in fulfilling his mandate.
