Watch Cattle 'Thieves' Fire Live Ammunition in Training

A video has been shared online showing suspected bandits training with firearms in the light of day, somewhere in Kerio Valley.

In the clip shared by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, the suspected cattle rustlers are seen running around while screaming as they shoot in the air.

Both men and women are seen celebrating as the shots are fired.

According to the Senator, those in the video are cattle rustlers who have been disturbing peace in Marakwet, causing residents sleepless nights.

''We hope the police can find these perpetrators, their commanders and financiers; apprehend them and bring to an end the misery facing our people,'' Murkomen said.

Meanwhile, the Senator stated that he held meetings with Deputy President William Ruto and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet, on the deplorable state of insecurity in Kerio Valley, Marakwet East.

Deputy IG Joel Kitili is set to visit the area on Tuesday and explain measures the government is putting in place to maintain security in Marakwet.

Tension has been high for the last few months between the Pokot and Marakwet communities due to cattle rustling.
