Jubilee Aspirant Swarrup Mishra Kiprop Attacked in Kesses Uasin Gishu County

Kesses Jubilee Party parliamentary aspirant Swarrup Mishra was attacked and mercilessly beaten in Eldoret town on Tuesday.

Mr Mishra was rushed to Mediheal Hospital before he was air lifted to Nairobi for further treatment.

The doctors who attended to him stated he was having breathing problems.

"We are examining him...he has serious injuries to his neck, which was twisted, and his stomach," one of the doctors stated

Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan indicated that they were carrying out investigation to determine what really occurred.

Further reports indicated the attack at Royalton Hotel was by supporters of Swarrup's rival Allan Kosgey.

Mishra was meeting his campaign team when it occurred.

"It was primitive and uncalled for. We have been peaceful and law abiding...we demand action on those involved," stated Joe Kirwa, the aspirants' team chairman.

However, Mr Kosgey denied the allegations that his supporters were involved.

This incident comes in a wake after another Jubilee affiliated Tetu Parliamentary aspirant Ann Kanyi was left nursing leg, back injuries and a dislocated knee after she was ambushed by goons during her campaign trail.

Ms Kanyi who was campaigning in her constituency, before a gang of youth blocked her way and dragged her out of the car and started assaulting her.
