Jaguar Rejects MP Maina Kamanda's Offer to Negotiate Over Jubilee Nomination

Popular musician Charles Njagua Kanyi aka Jaguar has rejected an offer to negotiate with MP Maina Kamanda over the disputed Jubilee nominations in Starehe Constituency.

Speaking outside the Jubilee headquarters, Jaguar adamantly maintained that he had won the nomination adding that he was not ready to negotiate over the issue.

He stated that he was the rightful winner of the primaries and all he needed was to be issued with the nomination certificate.

"I am not going to sit down with Kamanda, why should I sit down with him? It's not about me anymore. It's about " posed Jaguar.

The musician who is seeking to dethrone Kamanda disclosed that there was a plan to convince him to step out of the race and be nominated in the next Parliament.

Earlier on, Kamanda had stated that he was ready to sit down with Jaguar after the singer protested the results and launched an appeal with the party’s tribunal claiming that he had been rigged out.

Kamanda added that he was ready to reach a consensus with the celebrated musician for the greater good of the Jubilee party.

“I'm ready to sit down with Jaguar and reach a consensus for good of the party, even though I won fairly,” asserted Kamanda.

The contentious Starehe nominations were canceled by the Jubilee National Elections Board over allegations of irregularities.

Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju announced that the Starehe nominations would be repeated in order to resolve the matter.
