Form 2 Student Shot Dead As Police Battle NASA Demonstrators

A Form 2 student was shot dead in Athi River after police fired live bullets at demonstrators.

His body has been taken to Mutonguni Hospital.

2 more people, John Mutua and Mildad Lodenyi, sustained serious gunshot wounds and were rushed to Mutonguni Hospital as well.

Mr Mutua stated that he was on his way home when police shot him.

Ms Lodenyi revealed that she was in her house, which police stormed and shot her.

The police officers forcefully ejected journalists who tried to interview the shooting victims in the hospital.

Voting has largely gone on uninterrupted across the nation, with instances of police engaging in running battles with demonstrators reported in only a few areas.

Turn-out has been quite low compared to the August polls, with many polling stations remaining empty for most of the day.

Jubilee strongholds have, however, registered notable turn-outs.
