Linus Kaikai Quits Nation Media Group

NTV's General Manager, Linus Kaikai, on Wednesday officially issued his farewell message to his colleagues at the Nationa Media Group.

Photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke showed the accomplished journalist addressing the newsroom as fellow colleagues looked on.

News anchor Ken Mijungu was among the first of his peers to send his good wishes to the outgoing General Manager expressing his gratitude.

Speculations of his exit from the top media house had been rife with recent reports indicating that NMG's Editor-in-Chief Tom Mshindi had relieved Kaikai of his duties.

"Signs that he was headed for the exit door – one way or the other – became clear when Nation Media Group (NMG) recently effected editorial changes during which he (Tom Mshindi) promoted Pamela Asigi to the position of NTV Editor with a caveat that she would be reporting directly to him.

"In addition, Kaikai’s long-serving personal secretary was redeployed to Mshindi’s office," a source within NMG told Kenyans.co.ke.

Earlier reports indicated that Kaikai was offered a job with Royal Media Services (RMS) to take over the Operations Manager position left vacant by Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney.
