Kenyans Celebrate Mothers Day With Heartwarming Messages

Kenyans joined the world in honouring mothers as they celebrated Mother's Day which is marked anually on 13th May.

Many took to social media to share inspiring messages and stories highlighting the vital role mothers play in society.

Some posted photos of their mothers as they told of how they owe everything to them.

Mothers were praised for putting their families before themselves and always going out of their way to make their children comfortable.

One said: "When you are a mother,you are really never alone in your thoughts,a mother always thinks twice,once for her and once for her child."

"Today we're celebrating all the mothers, mother figures and those siblings that are playing the mother's role to their younger siblings. Happy #MothersDay," another wrote.

Others such as Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris celebrated the day by visiting new mothers at the Pumwani Hospital.

She engaged in coversations with the new mothers, making jokes as they shared their experiences as women and mothers.

They spoke on a range of issues such as family planning and delivery of services by elected leaders.

Others used the occassion to raise awareness on challenges such as maternal deaths and high child mortality rates.
