Governor Wycliffe Oparanya Accuses DP William Ruto's of Lying to Kakamega Residents

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Opranya has come out to criticize Deputy President William Ruto citing he had duped Kakamega residents.

Speaking at a burial ceremony on Saturday, the governor hit out at Ruto for reporting that the National Government had allocated Ksh 150million to the county for a CT scanner while no money had been received.

He accused the Jubilee leadership of lying to Western region residents in their hunt for votes and popularity.

“They launched fake projects to hoodwink Luhyas to vote for them. They came here and launched tarmacking of roads that never took off and you people continue clapping for them,” he mentioned.

The governor also denied that he was working closely with the DP.

It was earlier rumored that Oparanya was warming up to Ruto by helping him strategise for 2022 elections.

He also noted that the Luhya community belittles its own leaders thus denying them national recognition.

He urged the community to support its leaders like other communities do.

Last week, Ruto told a public rally in Mumias that the government had allocated money for the machine.

He also advised the community to join Jubilee and stop asking for development since they had voted for the opposition.

“You look for Uhuru and Ruto when it comes to development but during the elections you tell us ‘tibim’. If you continue plotting against us we shall report you in heaven,” the DP stated
