Comedian Chipukeezy Raids School Over Drugs

The director of the National Authority for the Campaign Against alcohol Drug Abuse (NACADA) Chipukeezy has raided Olympic Primary School in Kibera, Nairobi on Saturday.

The move by the comedian was an attempt to stop a boxing event scheduled to take place within the school premises on Saturday.

Led by Director Mwas Mutua popularly known as Chipukeezy, the NACADA team halted the event due to the sponsorship by Keroche Breweries - an alcohol manufacturing company.

"Concerned parents have notified me of the above-said event planned to happen in Olympic Pry School Kibra on 28th and 29th July," Chipukeezy broke the news on his Facebook page.

"We support the promotion of sports activities in our institutions of learning but we refuse alcohol to be sneaked through the same in our schools," he noted.

Chipukeezy further assured all the concerned parents that NACADA would not let the event to proceed at Olympic Primary as scheduled.

"We have already have liaised with the area MP, the DO and education officers plus all relevant authorities to make sure that this is effected. Let's keep our institutions of learning free from alcohol and drugs abuse," the NACADA director stated.

Speaking during the raid, Chipukeezy could not hide his disappointment with the organizers seeing it as a step back in the war against drug abuse.

"This is so disappointing, we have cases of students burning down schools and we have investigations still going on to determine if there was alcohol and drug abuse among the students then you wake up and find these posters in a school," he expressed.

The actions of the drug agency have however drawn mixed reactions as sampled in the opinions below:
