Dennis Itumbi Speaks to Jacque Maribe After Joe Irungu's Arrest

State House Secretary Digital Dennis Itumbi on Thursday disclosed having reached out to Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe who has been linked to a murder incident.

In a post on Wednesday, Itumbi stood by Jacque, his "good friend" whose lover is in police custody over the gruesome murder of Monica Kimani.

This comes amid reports that police had been unable to reach her to record a statement on the murder.

In the lengthy post wrapped around a poetic tone, Itumbi revealed that he had spoken to the TV presenter over the intrigues surrounding her love for the man suspected to have slit Monica's neck under unclear circumstances.

"I have spoken to her and she will obviously tell her story to the police. She will tell her story. I have not asked for details, those details belong to detectives. Am sure she will narrate what she knows and is sure about," announced Itumbi via a Facebook post.

Even as he maintained that he was certain Jacque would speak out on the matter, Itumbi appeared to be lifting her off the hook, arguing that she had just simply fallen in love with Joe Irungu.

He indicated that being his close friend, it was clear that Jacque had fallen in love with a guy that connected with her whole being.

"Their love did not start with the proposal. It has been a journey of love and affection. It is a story of genuine love, at least from the eyes of friends. We all fall in love with strangers and as we grow in the connection we learn each other," stated Itumbi.

He described the journalist as "a girl next door, who is in love," conceding that it is such a huge sacrifice for one to unconditionally give their life to the person they love.

Itumbi went on to state: "Having spoken to her (Jacque Maribe), I am convinced she will tell her story of love to the police in detail. For like you and me we all have our stories, some more intense than even hers."

He concluded saying all one could offer the journalist is a prayer that "God, Love and Truth be her guide," as she faces detectives handling the investigations.
