New Fuel Prices for October 15 to November 14

Energy Regulatory Commission on Sunday released new fuel prices for the month of October to November.

Through a press release, the prices for Diesel and Kerosene increased while the price of Petrol was lowered.

The price of Diesel increased by Ksh 1.60 while that of Kerosene went up by Ksh 0.43.

Petrol price was however lowered by Ksh 1.06 and is set to retail at Ksh 115.73 in Nairobi, Ksh 109.72 for Diesel and Ksh 108.84 for Kerosene

This is the second recalculation by the commission following the revision of the fuel tax from 16 to 8 percent after President Uhuru Kenyatta signed the Finance Bill 2018 into law.

"The changes in this month prices have been as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreasing by 1.99 percent from USD 743.85 per ton in August 2018 to USD 729.04 per ton in September 2018.

"Diesel increasing by 2.11 percent from USD 685.95 per ton to USD 700.41 per ton. Kerosene increasing by 0.60 percent from USD 717.30 per ton to USD 721.64 per ton," read the statement by ERC.

Fuel prices in Mombasa are set to retail at Ksh 113.10 for Petrol, Ksh 107.10 for Diesel and Ksh 106.21 for Kerosene.

In Kisumu, Nakuru and Eldoret the prices of Petrol will be Ksh 117.19, Ksh 116.20 and Ksh 117.20 respectively.

Mandera will account for the highest price of Petrol which will retail at Ksh 128.58.
