Details Owner of Car Used in Riverside Attack - NTSA Database

NTSA has revealed the owner of the vehicle used to ferry the terrorists to the Dusit D2 complex on the day of the attack.

According to their database, the vehicle, registration number KCN340E, belongs to a company named Cynkim Investment Limited.

In a call with Kenyans.co.ke, an NTSA official confirmed that the registration details of the vehicle doing rounds on social media were indeed true.

The Toyota blue Ractis used by the terrorists to access the complex was registered in the NTSA database on October 13, 2017.

The email used to register the vehicle belongs to one daniel.mutongi@gmail.com.

According to eyewitnesses, the car had been spotted at least three times in the establishment before the attack happened.

One even claimed that the driver gave him Kshs 100 to watch over the vehicle the first time the Toyota Ractis was seen in the complex.

A guard at the complex has also come out to claim that he had spotted the attackers at the complex several times before the incident.

According to him, they would ask them to watch over the vehicle, get into Dusit D2 and emerge with takeaway coffee.

It is alleged that, on December 13, 2018, the vehicle was taken to a branding company named 23 Marketing Concepts where it was branded with a logo of a skull wearing a gas mask.

The company's Instagram page validated the allegations as they documented the vehicle's branding process.

On January 15, 2018, at around 3.40pm, the attacker arrived at the Dusit D2 complex, leaving the vehicle a few meters from the complex’s roadblock.

One of the attackers is alleged to have blown himself up near the gate to enable them access into the building.

At least three vehicles were set ablaze after the bomb exploded.

DCI has since confirmed that they are pursuing leads regarding the vehicle's owner to arrest him for further investigations.
