Bill Clinton Euologizes I-DEV CEO Jason Spindler

Former US President Bill Clinton has condoled with the family of American businessman Jason Spindler who died in the Riverside attack on Tuesday, January 15.

In a tweet on Friday, Clinton said he saw Spindler’s drive and the impact of his efforts while the latter worked for the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI).

He also eulogized the co-founder and CEO of I-DEV International as a man “who dedicated his life to expanding opportunity around the world.”

Spindler, a 9/11 survivor, was among 21 people who died when terrorists staged an attack at the Dusit D2 complex along Riverside Drive.

His brother, Jonathan Spindler, confirmed his death on social media.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to report that my brother, Jason Spindler passed away this morning during a terror attack in Nairobi Kenya.

Jason was a survivor of 9-11 and a fighter, I am sure he gave them hell, there are no words to describe how our family is feeling but I can say. Jason Spindler, you are and will always be an amazing son, brother and uncle,” he wrote.

I-DEV International was operating at Metta – an entrepreneur space located in one of the office blocks at 14 Riverside.

Reports indicate that he was having late lunch with a friend in one of the restaurants when terrorists stormed in.

Metta General Manager Maurice Otieno said all the 45 people who were using their facilities at the time of the attack escaped safely.
