Congo Leaders to Start Classes in Kenya - Uhuru

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday revealed that leaders from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will henceforth start classes in Kenya.

Speaking after hosting DRC President Felix Tshisekedi, Uhuru indicated that his government will partner with Congo in capacity building.

"We will offer training opportunities to Congolese public servants in Kenya’s training institutions such as the Kenya School of Government," Uhuru stated.

Uhuru equally lauded the citizens of Congo for their maturity in conducting the last election and urged them to unite and develop their country.

"I assure President Tshisekedi of Kenya’s commitment in helping the DRC achieve political stability.

"Kenya has learned valuable lessons from past political tensions, which the country is willing to share with the Great Lakes nation," he added.

The talks held at State House Nairobi, and attended by Deputy President William Ruto, aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries.

The visit is part of the recently-sworn president's maiden trip that saw him visit Angola before heading to Nairobi.

Earlier on Wednesday, the DRC President held talks with African Union (AU) High Representative For infrastructure Development, Raila Odinga‏.

"The talks focused on areas of mutual interest and cooperation with a particular emphasis on the role of infrastructure in development on the continent," Raila indicated.

President Uhuru was the only Head of State at Tshisekedi's swearing-in ceremony that was also attended by several leaders including Raila and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
