Senior DCI Officers Moved in Reshuffle

Senior Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers were on Monday moved from their posts in a reshuffle by their boss George Kinoti.

According to reports, the move saw several high ranking officials redeployed to different posts.

DCI Kinoti noted that the changes were aimed at enhancing service delivery.

For instance, Nairobi County Head of DCI department Nicholas Kamwende was shifted to the Forensics Department, and will be succeeded by Bernard Nyakwaka.

The head of the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) Munga Nyale was moved to the DCI headquarters’ Planning Department.

He is set to be replaced by John Gachomo, formerly headed the DCI department in Eastern Region. Rift Valley head of the DCI department, Gideon Kibunjah, was relocated as a Commandant to the Training School in Nairobi’s South C.

Mohammed Amin, who has been heading the DCI in North Eastern region will be at the National Focal Point on Small Arms which is under the Interior Ministry.

“These are routine changes to enhance service delivery,” Kinoti was quoted.

The reshuffle comes in the wake of complex security challenges in the country including terror threat, corruption and drug trafficking.
