Kenyan Comedian Walter Mong'are Lands Ambassadorial Job

Kenyan comedian Walter Mong’are has landed a job as the drama ambassador for the Kenya National Drama and Film Festival.

The comedian, better known as Nyambane, was announced on Monday by the Kenya Film Commission Board CEO, Ezekiel Mutua.

The Commission sponsors the annual drama and film festival for artistic talents for schools all over Kenya.

As Ambassador for the Drama Festival, Mong’are will be expected to uphold the standards set by the KFCB for the performed arts.

The Redykyulass comedian currently works for the Office of the President as the Deputy Director in the Communication Department under youth programs.

During a tour to Kisii, president Uhuru Kenyatta had announced Mongare left the entertainment industry and joined him.

Prior to the announcement, Nyambane worked with the Kisii County Government under Governor James Ongwae before joining the Nairobi County Government.

Mong’are emerged in the limelight in early 2000 as part of a comedy group known as Red Kona that specialized in mimicking former presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.

The show was comprised of John ‘KJ’ Kiarie (current Dagoretti South MP) and Tony Njuguna.

Mon’gare also worked at Kiss100 and Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) where he was the radio boss for two years.
