The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on Friday officially expelled rebel Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.
The Party took to Twitter to communicate the information following a meeting by its National Governing Council (NGC).
However, her co-accused, Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori was spared by the party.
ODM cited that it considered the letter of apology by Dori in its decision on whether or not to expel the legislator.
The Orange party will, therefore, be holding a special NGC meeting within the next 60 days in which Dori will appear to present his case following his letter of apology.
The Msambweni lawmaker had apologised to his party for engaging in rebellious actions of supporting DP William Ruto, a rival of the party leader, Raila Odinga.
Ruto had been touring the Coast region in what was observed as a move to promote his 2022 presidential bid with the Jubilee Party.
The MPs apparently expressed support for Ruto as the preferred candidate for the 2022 race.
Such an action was observed as gross misconduct and a direct rebellion against the party by ODM’s National Governing Council.
The NGC is composed of the National Executive Council, ODM League, Youth League, the National Election Board and officials of the county coordinating committee.
Other members include ODM governors, deputy governors, leaders of minority and majority in the legislature and parliamentary groups.
