DCI Appeals to Public After Seizing Dozens of Stolen Laptops in Nairobi

Directorate of criminal investigations (DCI) detectives, on Friday, seized dozens of stolen laptops at a shop in Nairobi.

Taking to social media on Saturday, DCI advised all members of the public who lost their device to visit their Serious Crime Unit offices for identification process.

They unearthed the stockpile after they traced one laptop, a MacBook type, that led them to Kimathi House in Nairobi.

"Yesterday, Serious Crime Detectives recovered several assorted laptops from a shop at Kimathi House. This was after a stolen MacBook was traced to the shop.

"We appeal to members of public who may have lost items to come to OIC Serious Crime Unit and identify," posted the DCI.

One suspect, MarkChris Wairura Kagiri, was arrested by the detective in connection with the stolen laptops.

The revelation came just hours after the DCI had nabbed a notorious robber nicknamed 'Spiderman' for his ability to scale from one floor to the other.

Michael Joseph Otieno Odhiambo was apprehended by officers based in Kilimani at Greenhouse Building.

The suspect was nabbed with several laptops, pliers, a cutter, a hacksaw and a ransack bag.

He was later arraigned in court with charges of burglary and stealing.
