DCI Nabs Woman Running Fake Birth and Death Certificates Ring

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested a woman operating a fake birth and death certificates ring at her house in Kawangware, Nairobi.

The woman, Jackline Kwamboka Abuga, was subsequently arraigned in court on Wednesday with the offence after he was busted with several fake birth and death certificates.

In a statement, the DCI revealed they found the woman with various equipment she used in the business including a computer, printer and a seal for civil registrations.

DCI further divulged that Abuga had been printing the fake documents at her house and selling them to unsuspecting Kenyans.

"Detectives based at Immigration Department today arraigned Ms Jackline Kwamboka Abuga in court for the offence of forgery - several fake certificates (birth and death), a computer, printer, seal for civil registrations and other assorted documents were recovered from her house at Kawangware," read the statement from DCI

The sleuths further revealed that they were at an advanced stage in a bid to nab her accomplices in the illegal trade.

"The suspect has been printing the birth and death certificates at her house in Kawangare and selling them to unsuspecting Kenyans. She was arrested a few days ago after DCI detectives laid a trap for her. Investigations are at an advanced stage to have all those involved nabbed," continued DCI.

In February this year, DCI detectives also arrested three senior officials from Africa Spirits Ltd over tax evasion and unlicensed liquor.

The three were arrested in Thika town on February 1, 2019.

While conducting a raid in their premises, the detectives confiscated thousands of fake KRA stamps and cartons of unlicensed liquor.
