Tanga Tanga Female MPs Attack Uhuru’s Team

A section of the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) associated with the Tanga Tanga movement on Friday accused their counterparts under the banner ‘embrace’ as insincere women who were out to hoodwink Kenyans.

Speaking at a women empowerment function in Malindi, Laikipia Woman Rep Cate Waruguru lashed out at the ‘embrace” leaders particularly Former Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh.

The 'embrace' movement was meeting in Murang’a to rally the county behind President Uhuru Kenyatta- ODM boss Raila Odinga handshake and also organize campaigns against femicide.

Kuna mrengo ingine mimi naskia wanazurura county ya Murang'a ati wanadanganya sisi kwa Kikuyu ati wana embrace, na hii kukumbatiana ni ile ya Judas Iscariot (There is another group I hear is in Murang'a county lying to Kikuyus that they are embracing each other and yet their embrace is like that of Judas Iscariot)” Waruguru fumed.

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga on her part accused Shebesh of dividing and discriminating Kenyan women based on their tribes.

(There are women we put in the gender commission; there's a woman we removed from Nairobi because of her behaviour. Now, Shebesh's job is to use government money to divide women. Even sanitary towels she takes to only one tribe)" the senator stated.

Isiolo Woman Representative Rehema Jaldesa reiterated her colleagues remarks stating,

There are women whose job instead of uniting women under the gender ministry they only divide. They preach one thing but they do the opposite. We put Shebesh on notice to stop dividing women," she concluded.

The area MP Aisha Jumwa on her part threw jabs at Raila maintaining that he was a perennial loser and that the constitution would not be amended whatsoever to accommodate him after he lost again in 2022.
