Peter Kenneth's Mother Dies

Former Gatanga MP, Peter Kenneth, is in mourning following the death of his mother shortly after he buried his best friend Bob Collymore.

According to the family, Kenneth's mother, Rahab Wambui Muhuni, passed on while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi on Thursday morning.

She passed on after a long illness.

The former presidential candidate had disclosed about her illness during a live TV interview recently.

At the time of publishing this story, it was not yet clear what the cause of her death was.

Leaders have started pouring in their condolences to the former legislator.

"I share the pain of my friend Peter Kenneth on the demise of his dear mother, Rahab Wamboi. May you and family find the strength to bear this loss," wrote UNCTAD Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi.

"It is with profound sadness that I have this morning received news of the death of Mama Rahab Wambui Muhuni. Condolences to my friend Hon. Peter Kenneth and the entire family. I pray for God's comfort and providence in this difficult period of mourning," condoled President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On July 1, Kenneth lost his friend, Collymore, after a long battle with cancer.

Collymore had been suffering from Leukemia and died at the age of 61.

The former Safaricom CEO had, at some point, received treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
