Ndindi Nyoro’s Gesture to Musician ‘Stivo Simple Boy’ Turns Ugly

Kiharu MP, Ndindi Nyoro, on Friday, found himself on the receiving end of trolls by Kenyans on social media after offering to help musician Stivo Simple boy, the 'Vijana tuache mihadarati' hitmaker.

Nyoro, a staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto, had made his intentions clear on how he was ready to support the budding musician.

"Anyone who knows Stevo Simple Boy, aambiwe namtafuta (tell him that I’m looking for him). I'd want to give him some boost in his music career. Talented yet selling so much hope to the downtrodden. We are African and Africa is our business (sic)," Nyoro posted on Twitter.

His gesture didn't boil down so well with a majority of social media users, who accused him of pulling cheap public relations (PR) stunts.

Some opined that the Tanga Tanga loyalist wanted to use the musician for his political mileage and later leave him to hang dry after achieving his goal.

Others were of the view that Nyoro needed to concentrate more on helping talented youth from his constituency before stretching his hands out to Simple Boy.

Stivo captured the country’s attention not long ago with his hit song and ever since, everyone has been looking to be associated with him.

In the song, Simple Boy rallies the youth to stop drug abuse and make something better of their lives.

National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) director, Vincent Muasya alias Chipukeezy, was the first to introduce him to the public.

Tanzania’s musician Rayvanny also showed interest in working with him noting that his song was good teaching to the youth.

Here is the backlash that Nyoro received from Kenyans:
