Esther Passaris Blasts Media Over 'Topless' Article [PHOTOS]

Nairobi Women Representative, Esther Passaris, has found herself on the headline of a local news website, over an outfit she wore to a fundraiser presided by ODM leader, Raila Odinga, at Maranda High School, on Friday.

Taking to Twitter, she blasted a local news website, Tuko, which had run a story titled Esther Passaris' Topless Dress at Dinner Function Leaves Men Drooling, Salivating.

"By the way. Its called 'off shoulder' not 'topless'. Don't you research before writing a piece? Oops. I get it. We want to grow your followers," she blasted the journalist behind the article.

"Can I direct some desperate cases to your desk to help from the profits on my account?" the woman rep asked.

The story invited comments from Kenyans who bashed and defended her in equal measure.

"I think you should let Esther Passaris be. Didn't your mother's teach you to respect women? Passaris is just an African woman making her way under this scorching sun, a true symbol of an African woman wrestling with men to get her own share and voice heard," posted Muchiri.

"This woman is so unstable. Why engage in this kind of nonsense when there are so many serious issues that she could engage in? Good gracious God!!!" commented Wambui Kariuki.

The woman rep responded that "Give me three serious issues that I should engage in that I haven't already engaged in?"

"Remember societal wrongs require collective attention and action with the prerequisite budgetary allocations. A thriving private sector and citizenry cannot be left out of budding solutions," she advised.

Omondi Omundu, who had asked for a date with Passaris got surprised when the legislator made demands before she could accompany him.

"You got to give me three reasons why I should have a coffee with you? 'You are so hot ma'am' won't cut it. Though I do like my coffee hot," she replied.

"When you meant to be trending because of your work as MP you chose to trend because you want to show more skin at a public engagement..sad..do it private no issues but public engagement just have decorum and avoid all these shenanigans," cited Juma.

The woman representative responded that "Doomed if you do. Doomed if you don't. Welcome to #KOT a different 'kettle of fish'. I am learning to ride the political and social roller coaster. Some rides are fulfilling, educative and empowering, others demeaning, dangerous and repressive."
