Moses Kuria Comes to Ailing Musician's Aid

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has come to the aid of Mugithi legend Timothy Njuguna alias Mighty Salim.

Mighty who was diagnosed with diabetes in 2003 and suffered Kidney failure in 2013, he has been undergoing dialysis twice every week at the Kenol Hospital in Murang’a.

At the hospital, Mighty had to fork out Ksh18,000 for every session which he claimed he could no longer afford.

The information about Kuria’s philanthropic hand emerged on Facebook after Mighty’s sister Sarafina Salim took to the site to thank the legislator.

“The Salim’s, Entire Family And Friends. We want to take a moment to thank HON. MOSES KURIA for the love and support he has extended to us. Mighty Salim is receiving treatment at Karen Hospital after he fell ill on Saturday. Thank you a million folds Mhesh for facilitating and making this possible. Get well soon Mighty Salim,” Sarafina wrote on facebook.

Kuria in conjunction with NHIF ensured that the musician was transferred to The Karen Hospital.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Kuria noted that the musician will be undergoing treatment at the facility as plans for a kidney transplant commence.

The firebrand politician noted that Mighty would be flown to India for the procedure once the plans were complete.

“I paid for everything and ensured his transfer to The Karen Hospital. I would also want to thank the NHIF because they also chipped in,” Kuria told our news desk on phone.

The benga legend had taken to the media the past few weeks lamenting about being betrayed by politician friends after he fell ill.

Mighty Salim is a brother to Mugithi bigwigs, the late Salim Junior, Naomi Salim, Sarafina Salim, The late Muthoni Salim and Salim Young. He is also the uncle to Kajei Salim.
