Sonko's Offices Swept Clean by Robbers

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's offices were on Sunday, October 13, raided by thugs who made away with crucial items.

According to Sonko's Communications director Jacob Elkanah, the burglars stormed into the Nairobi county Assembly clerk's Jacob Ngwele’s office making away with Laptops and crucial files.

He further disclosed that the County Assembly MCAs led by Majority Leader Mark Ndung'u would address the press over the early morning theft among other issues.

This comes after the county's speaker Beatrice Elachi's dramatic return to the office, on Wednesday, October 9 that ended physical violence.

During the heated session, Elachi’s attempt to chair a plenary session on the same afternoon flopped after the clerk’s office failed to provide the order paper amid confrontations by two rival groups.

Anti- Elachi legislators boycotted the session that was adjourned indefinitely.

“We have adjourned the house, until the day I will send communication that this is the day we are coming back to the plenary and we will come back when we have peace in the house so that we will never come back again to such a scenario,” stated Elachi.

Majority Leader Hassan Guyo led a faction of MCAs who raided her office, leaving chairs and tables broken clashing with their counterparts who had camped there in solidarity with the embattled speaker.
