An eight-year-old boy on Saturday, October 19 impressed many citizens with his driving skills.
In an NTV video, Gitau Munene could be seen skillfully driving his father's Range Rover under the keen eye of his father, Wilson Munene.
The grade two pupil will be participating in the Jumbo Charge 4x4 challenge that will be held at Cheptais, Mt. Elgon in Bungoma county.
"I started driving at the age of six and my dad is the one who taught me," a bold Gitau stated.
His father disclosed that he noticed his son's interest in driving when he was five years old but was unable to reach the pedals or be able to see the road.
"I custom made a seat for him to enable him see the road and at the same time drive in a safe way belted up," the proud father recounted.
Gitau has been practicing, driving from home to the shop and back, guided by his father.
The 8-year-old disclosed that he was ready to compete against other competitors and was positive he would win.
My dad tells me to be confident in driving, to always look forward and avoid looking at him while on the wheel," he disclosed.
Gitau will be driving through muddy terrains and also against other cars.
His father also affirmed that his son will be driving a Range Rover P38, a 4-litre engine, which he has prepared well.
"We have been practising in Aberdare from Thika to Soko Mjinga. I have prepared the car well and even bought new tyres," he confirmed.
While driving, Gitau was cheered by onlookers who were impressed by how well he maneuvered the muddy terrain.
