Jubilee MP Rants About How Conspiring to Kick Out Kabogo Went to Waste

In a video obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, on November 18, Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung’wa, came clean about the efforts that he and other Kiambu leaders towards putting in place the United For Kiambu movement to help force out former Governor William Kabogo.

“I was part of the leaders who tried bringing the candidates together and so was Senator Kimani Wamatangi. We led Kiambu County into the formation of the United for Kiambu movement,” remarks Ichung’wa.

The MP further gave information of the vehement efforts that were put in place to bring together various candidates who had shown interest in the gubernatorial race, a process that finally settled on Ferdinand Waititu.

“We decided to sit down and have a conclusion after the race attracted many candidates and we needed to bring them together as a formidable team,” added Ichung’wa.

However, the Parliamentarian castigated the turn of events in the team, especially after their candidate, Governor Ferdinand Waititu, won in the elections.

“All the members of the United for Kiambu team have turned out to be people with no interest in the affairs of Kiambu residents. They just seek to attain personal milestones at the expense of the voter who helped them attain these positions.” expressed the Kikuyu MP.

“I am not interested in the position of governor in this county but I must point out the pain of Kiambu residents that has been caused by people we had much hope in,” added Ichung’wa.

The United for Kiambu Movement was established by bringing together Governor Ferdinand Waititu, James Nyoro, Bishop David Ngari alias Gakuyo, Businesswoman Aquiline Njoki and John Mugwe.

The pact indicated that James Nyoro would become the Deputy Governor while Aquiline Njoki, was to head the trade and legal affairs docket.

However, this never came to pass as she was appointed a member of the County Public Service Board.

Her bid to be elected Kiambu County Assembly Speaker never saw the light of the day as Waititu favoured former Juja MP Stephen Ndichu.

The pact also stated that Gakuyo was to be the chief minister in charge of all county executive committee members as well as the head of the county lands department. However, the agreement was trashed and Gakuyo was appointed governor' advisor on economic affairs.

John Mugwe, a professional engineer, wasn’t lucky too as his appointment to the roads and infrastructure docket was later dismissed by the Governor leading to a court process pitting the two.
