Garissa County Woman Representative Anab Subow Gure, on Thursday, March 26, mourned the death of her father, Mzee Subow Gure.
According to a statement shared by Garissa Township MP and National Assembly majority leader, Aden Duale, the Jubilee party legislator's father passed away following a short illness.
"We surely belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. Following the death of Mzee Subow Gure, the father of Anab Gure, Garissa County Member of Parliament after a short illness. May Almighty Allah dwell him in Jannatul Firdaus.
"My sister and your family members, may Allah give you patience during this period," reads a section of Duale's condolence message.
Udgoon Siyad - a vocal politician also condoled with her parliamentarian, going on to offer some words of comfort.
"The only thing that softens human hearts is death. It's a reminder that this world isn’t our home. My condolences to my sister Hon Anab Subow Gure and her family for the loss of their father," she posted on twitter.
Anab has been a staunch supporter of Deputy President (DP) William Ruto, making headlines in 2019 when she announced that she would name her unborn baby after the DP.
The straight-shooting legislator clinched her seat after she was fronted under negotiated democracy following the Tolomoge agreement between Samawathal and Abduwak clans in her home town.
She promised to prioritise the improvement of education and health in the county if elected.
Anab has overseen the launch of several developments in Garissa alongside DP Ruto including then launch of 6 boreholes, the construction of Dekaburi -Garissa Ndogo- Sankuri Road among others.
